Thanksgiving Update

Happy Thanksgiving week Senior Skiers and Parents!

It has been fun to have a few skiers out roller skiing.  We will continue to hold informal practices until the official start of our season!  Remember to bring a facial covering.  We will practice in pods no larger than 5, with facial coverings!  Just remember, they are used for training NOT during times of Covid.  Our first priority is to keep everyone safe and healthy!!

Our hope is to have races we can participate in, but at the very least, we will have a terrific time out skiing, staying healthy and having fun!!  This may be the year for random ski adventures!!

FYI, currently there is snow to kick around on up by Stevens Pass, Plain had a "soft opening"-but check the status  https://www.skiplain.com/groomingreport, and the Methow has groomed trails-so hopefully you can get out during the Holiday weekend!

REGISTRATION will soon be up, but tentatively our start date will be Tuesday Dec. 8th, and the practice schedule will remain the same as last year.  Tues/Wed/Fri/Sat

TRAINING: Check out the training page for November for guidelines.

RACING: We are hoping for the best and planning mulitiple contingencies for the season.  The current JNQ race schedule is as follows and is subject to change:  All will be interval starts this year.  As you may know already, Jr. Nationals have been cancelled this year, in their place, there will be a WESTERN REGION CHAMPS-this is to minimize cross country travel, so most teams can drive. The same qualification rules apply, except that PNSA has increased the number of skiers who can qualify this year. The exact details will be posted. The SOHO race will not count as a qualifier this year.

This year, we will be requiring parents to travel with their skiers, luckily this is how we have basically always functioned, so not a big change for us.

Stay tuned for further updates and looking forward to seeing you all out there!!!

Looking  forward to skiing with you!
